Zancon is proud to have supported the successful delivery of the new St Mary’s Cathedral College Secondary Campus - Sydney, which has now reached completion and handover.

The landmark project involved the transformation of the heritage-listed 1941 ACI building, famously known as the ‘House that Glass Built’, into a contemporary vertical learning environment.

The new secondary campus forms an important part of St Mary’s Cathedral College’s expansion and transition to a co-educational K–12 institution, providing modern learning spaces within one of Sydney’s most distinctive heritage buildings.

The project was delivered within a complex, live environment and involved a staged approval and construction process. The adaptive reuse of the existing heritage building required careful coordination of the construction activities, project interfaces and delivery programme.

Zancon provided project planning and programming services, working collaboratively with the wider consultant and delivery team to support the coordination and progression of the works through to completion. We also supported the project delivery team in resolving the issues related to delays and disruptions by performing independent delay analysis and engaging in strategic negotiations related to adjustment of time for completion.

The completion and handover of the new campus represents a significant milestone for St Mary’s Cathedral College and Sydney Catholic Schools of which Zancon is proud to have been a part of.
